Mike and Denise Ferris own the company and we very much believe in the personal approach. We lead each and every one of the tours ourselves; sometimes one or more often both of us. Several other operators in Australia and abroad now also offer motorcycle tours as part of their general portfolio which might include fishing trips, camel safaris, cultural tours and so on. Ferris Wheels is the only professional Australian tour operator running only motorcycle safaris. Our itineraries are more comprehensive than others on offer. If their trip appears cheaper, ask how many days you will be riding, ask if all meals are included, all fuel for the bikes, all spare parts, etc. Then ask if you can phone five of their (motorcycling) clients and five of ours for references, before deciding where to place your faith.

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery -- but one of the less-easily managed aspects of this global phenomenon known as the Internet, is that other people can not only copy your ideas, but can also now help themselves to your entire published content. Certain other operators of motorbike tours have seen fit to copy not only our itineraries but whole sections of our descriptive narrative, verbatim, into their own webpages!  One johnnie-come-lately has even stolen our tagline about living on the edge vs. too much room, and another newcomer has recently sprung up, boasting three guides who are all past participants of one or more Ferris Wheels safaris.

In addition, many of our clients have individually been featured in regional newspapers and club magazines too numerous to mention, as a result of their participation in these tours. Our international safaris have been featured on top-rating TV travel shows such as The World Around Us, Grey Voyagers and Getaway, as well as many a privately-produced client video. We enjoy an exceptionally high repeat rate from satisfied customers, several of whom have done four, five or seven tours with us -- one guy has done 18 (yes, eighteen!) so far and still counting. He averages two per year and he'll clock up his 20th with us in 2011.
